Large municipal and districtwide CWPPs can appear overwhelming given diverse public and private land ownerships interest groups. The Anchor Point Group helps municipalities around the world ascertain and mitigate their wildfire risks, including extensive work in southern California and such prominent cities as Santa Fe, N. M.
Our principals, Chris White and Rod Moraga, have experience with such large-scale projects dating well before Community Wildfire Protection Plans were incorporated into the Healthy Forests Restoration Act of 2003.
Working with the city and county of Boulder, Colo., our founders developed new methodologies to improve planning processes that are now ingrained into national policy and the Anchor Point Group's approach.
Much of the APG philosophy has been incorporated in the CWPP process. Our company was a key player in writing the International Association of Fire Chief's "Leaders Guide to CWPPs." Additionally, APG collaborated in the development of FEMA's "Wildfire Loss Assessment Methodology" and "Homebuilders Guide to Construction in the Wildfire Zone."
APG continues to be involved in local wildfire planning and protection, while collaborating at the national and international scale.
